0. When is it necessary?

Check this video. If your target page requires clicking a button to load more products, Listly can automate the action with Auto-Click setting.

1. Create a single Result

Go to the target page and do extraction using by either LIST/Y WHOLE or LIST/Y PART. (LIST/Y PART is much faster than LIST/Y WHOLE)

https://www.indiegogo.com/

There were 12 products on the page when we first visited.

2. Add Auto-Click setting

Go to Databoard. Click the Setting icon.

Write down the CSS Selector of the element to click. Select other options.

  • Repeat N times: How many times do you want to repeat clicking?
  • Wait after clicking: How long do you want to pause per clicking?

If you don’t know what CSS Selector is, please the next instruction (3. Copy and paste the element’s CSS selector … )

3. Copy and paste CSS selector

“What is CSS Selector?”
It is a text that describes the location of an HTML element in a Web document. All elements such as a button, an image, a text, an icon, and an area, they could be selected by CSS selector.

You can get the CSS selector easily within a few clicks. (It works well with any browsers; Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.)
1) Move the mouse over the element to click
2) Do right-click and click the Inspect
3)
Move the mouse over the element’s source on the right panel
4) Do right-click and click the CopyCopy Selector

2) Do right-click and click the Inspect
4) Do right-click and click the CopyCopy Selector

Back to the Auto-Click setting page, Paste the text on CSS Selector input. Click the OK button.

4. Refresh the data

Almost done. Click the Refresh icon to extract again with Auto-Click setting.

5. Download Excel file

If the extraction is finished, let’s check the result. You can see that there are 72 cards extracted in the first tab. When we first extracted data without auto-click, there were 12 cards in the result. Our example (Indiegogo.com) presents 12 products initially and shows 12 cards more whenever clicking “SHOW MORE” button.

  • 12 cards (first) + 5 times to repeat (our setting value) x 12 cards per click = Total 72 cards
