Costco is now America’s fifth largest retailer with $121.22 billion in sales in 2020. In fact, 111.6 million people worldwide paid $60 to $120 for the privilege of shopping at Costco.
Hence, tens of millions of Americans pay for the privilege of driving 20 miles to spend two or three hours pushing carts overloaded with stuff around a warehouse. We have to admire a company smart enough to trick customers into doing its warehouse work for it.
