When the dark blue cloaks are shed,
jubilation and excitement retreat into their cocoons,
entice the flood out; catharsis.
The skies stop seeming so far away,
or as daunting,
whilst the road traveled,
an ephemeral memento of
carefree elation.
In a last bid of farewell,
we fling our hearts
at witnesses to our finest hours,
trying our best not to forget
the yesterdays.
