Fifteen petals, strewn behind
A path of memories
From bud to floweret, unwinds
A tale in reverie

Calling out unborn, a soul
To seed is tarried born
In joyous bundle, a tiny vole
Grasped a thumb anon

A tender shoot, gently peeks
Into a world unknown
With innocence, green and meek
A life casts out alone

From shoot, arises leaves so frail
Waving like tiny hands
First day at school, as life unveils
The sadness of sifting sands

And then, a tiny bud appears
Sweet empathy and kind
A smile that wipes a thousand fears
A hug that frees the mind

Years go by, the shoot has grown
A stem with strong resolve
The world so curious, has sown
A hunger to evolve

Then one day, a floret blooms
Atop that youngling plant
Petal whorls, proud and plume
Strut the open stands

And now today, with petals fresh
A wiser soul awakes
Gentle, strong to face the thresh
The world is yours to make
