She had just arrived in the sunny country after three long days on the road. She was exhausted but also so excited to spend holidays with her father for the first time in a while. They deserved some vacation, this year was not easy with the divorce, the fights, the tears, and her father thought they needed to go away and just enjoy some rest next to the sea. She looked around her and felt amazed: the landscape was dreamlike, perfect blue sky, gentle breeze, endless water and smiling people. She asked her dad about the program of the holidays, although she knew he was not the kind of person to make organized plans. He liked surprises and adventures, and so did she. He told her that he would make some calls to family members and friends he had not seen for years to see if someone wanted to show them around.

An old friend of his showed up a few minutes later and said he would take them to the most wonderful place in the country, a place they called the Blue City. The forty-year-old man did not come alone, he had brought his son with him so he could keep his friend’s daughter company and prevent her from boredom. The teenagers had almost the same age and started talking.

It took them only a few minutes to see that there was a connection between them, something that could not be explained with words…
