Camping Fireside
Beginning Of A New Tale Of Love
Darkness, she tells me, her fear of the absence of light,
in the vastness of this empty jungle;
Not afraid of the snake-bite, mad elephants or even the lion’s hunger.
Twinkle shiny in her eyes confide in the wide smile of mine;
Her gaze at the stars, majestic so makes me forget the passing of the time.
I recite to her lines from my poems, from the times when she was not around;
I phrase love, like the pearls around her neck in subtle glow, this moonlight, without a sound.
The fire finds its way up in the air & sublimes into the skies,
I recheck the ring-box in my right pocket, the next moment another fire ignites.
I write Open Letters to Medium, talk about millennials, ruminate over poems I wrote when I was thirteen & write poems about good-byes, crazy ex-girlfriends and simple murders.
