This prayer poem
Is all the creed I can mutter
So by the married strength
Of your love and mercy
Please God, please
Don’t let me pray in vain
Let this suffering be worth it
Let the pain come with a prize
A real shining trophy
And let the tears taste like wine
Show me the way to patience
And teach me faith
That I might learn obedience
But most of all, please, God
Don’t let me pray in vain
