Fond Memories

Laughter
sunlit ends
split ends beach sand hair,
it spilled from the seascape of you
into the cool will rushed the sea,
helplessly
bathers faced with the rush of evening’s wind.

Fond memories left behind,
left behind
leaving behind beach sun sand
and helpless babes
burgundy cheeks from too much sun,
sunlight’s end
head full of expiration and zest
soul yearns through cracks now wide open
in pursue of rest.

Evening it will sow
blankets thrown on checkered floors
escapes of apartments, now,
home is safety in return
dinner is late on the table,
blue china replaced by red paper plates,
styrofoam, white,
too exhausted from the play.

Sunlight’s end
windows full of smudges,
sunsets amidst shadows
sleep comforts the beings of us.

Exhausted from the play.
