No beating chest of passion’s call,
just a twinkle in a longing gaze,
a little dream, a soft caress,
knowing that forever, friends we be,
cheeks gently kissed, shoulders hugged,
affection’s gentle face, its warm glow,
as winter’s hearth upon our breath.
