Lit Up — August’s Writing Prompt
Dear Lit Uppers,
It’s finally time for our new prompt!
We know that, timewise, things have been a bit…unstable on Lit Up for quite a while now, and we are truly grateful for all the patience and support you have all given us. As our editorial is slowly getting back, we thought, what could be better than a writing prompt to help us sharpen our pencils?
As a reminder, our Lit Up prompts are running through each month, the theme will be announced in our monthly newsletters, and your beautiful submissions will be published every Wednesday (and Thursday when there are no Tales in Parts in line for publication).
For August, our majestic prompt editor Dermott Hayes had this fantastic idea:
Harvest Season
August is time to take stock of your labour and harvest the crops. In the Celtic pagan calendar it is called Lúghnasá, to celebrate Lúgh, the Celtic god of crafts and arts.
Use this prompt to assess the focus of your own art and your aspirations for the future…maybe all under a harvest moon? ;)We are looking for:
Flash fiction (up to 1000 words) and Poetry (our usual standards apply).
