Me as a mug

I am like your lover,
Except you don’t think of me that way.
Lip to lip, the way we kiss,
So sweet and soft as you take a sip,
But only when I’m full.
When I’m empty you leave me be
To collect dust
On a shelf, with everyone else.
When you finally take me down to fill me up,
You drop me,
So I crack and splatter on the ground,
And now I sit in the trash
Waiting to be found.
