Reach (out)

I stand at the set of dusk
with my back to my house
At the edge of the pier
trying to make something of
The dark misty covers ahead
which shroud what beckons me
And time passes by as I languish guessing
and my boat is tethered near
Yet I stand still
hand outstretched to grasp what hides, in vain
Cuz I can’t reach out for things
that I cannot see
And I’m too blind to take hold of
what’s in front of me
