There’s a ‘drip, drip’ coming from the sink, that I haven’t fixed, it’s been some time, but that sink is my mind and that ‘drip’ is the ‘drip, drip’ of things slipping, I keep tripping over time (or is it space?) I can’t keep a handle on this place, it’s all moving too fast, but that ‘all’ includes me, I’m allowing this perpetuation, this constant noise, consumerization of everywhere you look, ‘eat, EAT’ it’s this mantra on repeat, (cause just stopping isn’t a choice), (not doing anything isn’t a choice), apathy won’t give you a voice, what they want you to take you’ll consume by just sitting, you’ve got to be active in the living, stand up, we need retaliation, lex talionis, redress. Rise! This is your life. You say you want to find some satisfaction? You won’t get it in apathetic distraction, that’s just a bad reaction to a situation seeming to slip outside of your control, when really we don’t have any kind of control over what happens, except in how you choose to respond to what happens. So make your choice, how will you respond? Will you wallow in despond-ancy, the choice made for you, the lifeline wasting, the melody coming to a hush, that power of your river rush brought to a close? Lay it on, the words keep spinning in my head like a merry-go-round, keep it coming, I know this, you know? But I don’t fully know, or else, I’m trying to know, or I know…
