Lit Up’s December Prompt
Warning: You may hate me after you finish this.
I’m a secretive person. I have many secrets.
Some of them are automatically generated when I take a long time to come up with a response. When I leaf through them I see moments of indecision, thoughtfulness, doubt, or wants of wit or a timely quote.
The rest of my secrets are deliberately generated when I take a long time to come up with a story. When I leaf through them I see moments of indecision, thoughtfulness, doubt, or wants of wit or a timely quote. Still, they’re the best I can come up with.
And this is one of my secrets.
My editor is the person I share my secrets with, and she decides which one to publish and when.
Of course I don’t share all of my secrets with her. I delete those that are automatically generated. And I share other secrets with other editor.
I just try to share secrets I consider beautiful with her.
So, I’m going to make no secret of this: If you’re reading this, it means that my editor considers this secret worth publishing.
And if it’s a crime to call a draft a secret, then she’s my perfect partner in crime.
