Starlit Memories
Carrying You in the Light of Stars
As tiny droplets burst upon the breeze,
You emerge like a spell from life’s shifting tides.
When a wet puddle kisses my feet
Soaking my shoes with their earthy touch,
I surrender my soul again
To the soft clouds, crying with the rain.
The river walks before me,
its current whispering goodbyes,
its surface bubbling,
crying out loud with lonesome pops.
I wave at the river,
as though I’m waving at you.
A young girl pauses,
her curious gaze catching the moment.
She asks permission to capture it,
to click and save this fleeting fragment of my life.
I nod and smile.
She takes the picture of me
waving to the water,
and then waves back,
her smile a small comfort.
This is how your memories last.
river stream,
In your love that remains
With kindness from strangers
And the long night…
