Swollen Fortress

The bygone
swelled in my veins,
as
intricate
details unfurled.
as-
tips of my body
became ornate endings
of spreading memoirs
Large motifs, embedded with
delicate leaves, deeply carved flowers
appeared
as
threads on my skin
color on color,
as-
arches~moments
little passages
opened into galleries
of elaborate
reminiscence
Over ages,
my palms
have held finest of lines,
that
the fortress within
swells now and again,
that-
my golden columns
my fragile mirror work
emerge on the outside
