The Nurtured Soul

I watered the soul
and it bloomed —
the flowers began to
emerge from their buds,
spreading through the empty space.
My roots grew stronger;
its convictions burying themselves
deep into the once-impenetrable ground.

And from the flowers
love had patiently grown,
ready to spread its pollen
for the world to enjoy.
