The Power of Tears
Every time you climb
one ledge higher on the rockface
to the summit of your self discovery,
clinging fast to the hope of future healing
letting go of the refuge of the past
standing still in the present moment
face turned to the Sun in gratitude
breezes caressing your knotted hair,
the tears will come, trickles turning to waterfalls
when, wearied, you cannot raise another foot
to reach the crest of your mountain
the ocean of your tears will cradle you to the crown.
