The reporter catches coach in the final quarter of the final game for the replacement players of the Washington Sentinels. Her only question begged, "What will Washington need to get back into this game?"

Coach simply stated, "Heart."

"I'm sorry, can you expand on that?" She followed.

Without making on eye contact, while briskly walking towards the field, coach plainly says, "Miles and miles of heart."

Of the numerous valves, veins, and muscles, there's only one heart that beats. The power house for love and genuine concern for someone or something other than yourself is so beautiful, so timeless, and well-worth protecting. The camaraderie, mutual love of the game, and respect of the diverse men around them is the "heart" that not only won the game, but won a place on the trophy shelves of their history.

Is life not a game to join a team with common interests and have the opportunity — no the privilege — to build them up? To succeed together or to grow stronger trying? Is life not about the beauty that sets us apart but the passion that unites us?

This is a game that too many people have actively committed to remain benched. Life is a treasured field without clear lines or zebra-like refs to keep the order. It's intentional chaos and enthusiastic serenity. People venture from different time zones, much less miles and miles, seeking:
love,
compassion,
understanding,
humility,
acceptance.

Show them. Share with them. And most of all, join them with an open hand. Be always ready to catch an interception, pull a hand up, or hold a teammate as they cry. This planet craves "heart" and it would be a disservice to not offer "miles and miles" of it.
