Women Are Born Bodies of Water

A gilding kiss ㅤ sun
golden brushstrokes
on bare slope of shoulders
languid toes dip ㅤ melting
cooled, navigate isles in seafoam
once buoyant, her daydreams lay prone …
poised to drown
sensuous form slips into formless sea
hips braced against the surf
submerge
long gray mane coils and curls
coiffed as seaweed
she bequeaths her shallows
to youthful sailors yet to shave
and iridescent shapeless maids
breasts float,
breadth of thighs in waves
leak between rock and crevice
a body & soul’s cold memory
washes away
sinks in summoning grasp
of an undertow
her veins flowㅤa voice
as gurgle to a slowing brook
ㅤquiet in escape
the ebb into depths’ dark leviathan
on the calm she spreads wide
reflects the images of heaven
on swellsㅤin lunar pull
rides the conch’s song–-
peace in its constant
and repetition
she is as a small boat upon
her own waters now
ㅤunburdened oars
unburdened heart.
