What about MCP v2.0 Pre-Release? Here’s What We’ve Found!
Huge thanks to the MCP community! You are rock stars. The feedback you gave sheds light on how we should move forward. (Part I)
Our community-based feedback and issue reporting on the MCP v2.0 pre-release have come to an end. More than 50 product suggestions from the community were received, and 4 lucky winners have claimed the rewards!
The feedback from the community offers us a treasure trove of insights. After reading through them and analyzing them, we’d like to share what we’ve found with you.
Five Key Findings
Our survey questions range from user experience, sentiment, satisfaction, and all the way to users’ understanding of our product and the concept of decentralized identity (dID). Here are our five key findings:
😃 1. 90% Happiness
On a scale from 1 to 10, over 90% of participants rated their account linking experience on MCP as 8 or above 8. Although self-reported metrics can be ambiguous, this rating still paves the way to knowing people’s experience with MCP, and we’re delighted to know that most of them find it to be smooth and easy to navigate.
We do notice that some participants rated their experience below 8, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are unhappy. Rather, those participants had different expectations for MCP. They would like to see MCP be more visually interesting and have more detailed UX content.
🌟 2. 70% to 100% Task success
All participants have successfully created their ID Graph and claimed their Spirit NFTs. Thus in terms of task completion, the success rate is 100%.
However, if we use the amount of time that a user spends on completing the task — claim a Spirit NFT — to measure task success, only 70% of participants spent less than 10 minutes on this task. Similar to users who gave a blow-eight rating, those who spent over 10 minutes completing the task preferred to see more detailed UX instructions.
✅ 3. 60% to 95% Adoption
In our survey, 60% of participants would like to bring their aggregated identity to other platforms and services without any perk, but with the right perk, 95% of them would also like to do so. Users’ willingness to continue using their linked accounts can be understood with the equation “Adoption = Value / Product.”
The adoption rate depends on two factors: the value of linked accounts on MCP and the complexity of using it. Participants expect to use lower effort to navigate MCP, and at the same time to receive higher value with their aggregated identity.
🔐 4. Our user community highly values data privacy and security
From the keyword analysis, we found two words being mentioned repeatedly: privacy and security. Indeed, privacy and security are at the heart of our day-to-day digital activities, and they are what Web3 is all about.
Participants’ close attention to privacy and security corresponds with MCP’s mission — we want to help more users be aware of the value of their private data and actively take control of their identity data, instead of being passively taken advantage of. With our decentralized identity solution, users can rest assured that their data can remain to themselves with 100% security.
🙌 5. MCP has piqued users’ interest in decentralized identity (dID)
Web3 is a world filled with myriad building projects. Effort on building decentralized identity (dID) often goes underrated and overlooked due to its lack of instant incentives, yet dID will be the force to revolutionize the way we share data.
We want to help users aware of this revolutionary force and recognize the value of their digital identity. And we did.
With aggregated identity on MCP, participants leveraged their identity to earn a unique Spirit NFT on PhalaWorld. For the first time, they saw the potential value of reclaiming their rights to identity ownership, and they were curious to learn more about how MCP can protect their data while helping them to maximize their identity value.
💚 Thanks again for letting us know how we did. We’re happy to find out that you enjoyed our product and liked its convenience. We also appreciate the complaints and concerns you raised, because they were equally valuable and vital for us to better our product designs.
