Before It Goes Too Far

A Poem

Meddling with morning terror
accomplished bathroom destroyer
violent vibrations cue the ambience
then leaves everything quiet
Just so quiet
like when I take out my hearing aid
putting the world away in a drawer
Planning my next attack on the books
I stare simply winded
unable to unfold the plans that
will take me to this new house
These ugly fortunes
rotting atomic preludes to another
creature
Or even something not “made”
sort of “Formed” by the breath of an idea
But still put upon
to function in a time that is
disinclined to nail anything like evolution
down
Hermetic winds change the stellar tones
leaving eardrums buzzed
until fractured fevers become allies
creating bedfellows for the nervous
and dying
Not catching up to the fight
before it goes to far
