Break free,
to be set free.
Free from the pain and the lame games.
Free from the days of when you were near,
yet I wanted to be anywhere but here.
I thought if I ran long enough, far enough — I would get away.
It took years to realize the threshold of the door was waiting for me,
the only thing holding me back;
I’ll never forget that first and last step,
allowing me to forever be free.
