Dear Readers and Writers,

First I want to apologize for being a bit sporadic lately. I’ve been running things solo for a while now. JessK is, understandably, occupied with family matters, and since I also run several other publications, it’s been a lot of work keeping up with things here.

I don’t publish anything I don’t read, and sometimes the longer pieces we get submitted to us suffer a bit for that, which is unacceptable to me. I am looking at taking on a new Editor as soon as this person and I work out the details. This will improve response time to both publishing and emails. Thank you for being patient with us.

A new editor will also allow us to finally get a regular prompt going, which is something I’ve wanted for a while. The variety that we publish here means we could have some very interesting writing prompts.

Before that, however, I will be taking a short break to sort out some personal issues that are keeping me from doing the best job I could be doing here at Literally Literary. Starting today until I will be away for 1 week. During that time we will still be accepting submissions, but they will nto be published until I get back. I will catch up on the submissions currently in the queue. On 9/18 we will resume publishing.

Again, thank you for your patience. I promise to provide an improved Literally Literary.

You are all appreciated more than you know.

Sincerely,
Heath Houston
