ebb and flow

I am persistent
Always flowing
Always seeking
Testing my boundaries
Searching for a way through
A way forward
The path of least resistance, but make no mistake
I am powerful
When the mountains resist, I will carve my way through
I will move earth and redefine the horizon
I nurture and give life
Washing away dirt and sins
I am placid and I am calm, but I am wild and I am unstoppable
I can destroy when I rage
Overflow and overwhelm
A force to be reckoned with
I am dynamic
Taking the shape of anything or anyone
Adapting to any vessel
Filling it until I bubble up and burst over
And then recede again
