stepping out of the shower
hazy clouds of steam roll out
past the heavy glass door
filling the tiny room

a soft terry towel hangs
within arm’s reach

wrapping it snug
I securely tuck in the end
and stare into the foggy mirror

I see vibrant blue eyes
a freshly scrubbed face
and freckled shoulders

closing my eyes
I take a deep, full breath
and with a slow exhale
the towel silently drops

breasts now free
and eyes still closed
I feel you behind me

warm breath on my neck

your lips so close
whispering in my ear

familiar calloused hands
rest on my hips and pull me tight

you place a gentle kiss on my neck

as I notice the coldness
of the smooth tile beneath my feet
my nipples pucker
