From bright reds and blues
We faded to a dull grey
All the excitement gone
Now we’re obligated to stay
Falling in a pattern too comfortable to leave
Ignoring the fact that it makes us unhappy
Constant rains pouring upon us
With the occasional thunderstorms too
Our only hope is the blue sky peeking
The chance of a clearer view
Escaping this grey is a difficult task
I don’t want to be stuck in this monochromatic life
With a painted mask.
