I Must Have Seen the Sky as Flat

I must have seen the sky as flat
at some point
when everything was as it was and without further explanation,
yet,

The sky decorated with sparkles
and two round flat faces
one to gaze at with wonder, one to shield my eyes from on a clear day
even the clouds were just a blanket covering the surface of the sky.
