If I Am Lost
Will you find me
If I am lost
Will you come running
Holler my name
Howl like a wounded pup
Raze the streets
Hunting for the me-shaped emptiness
You call your heart
If I am lost
Will you take to your bed
Moan my name
Muzzle your desires
Tend to your gaudy melancholy
The me-shaped emptiness
Erasing you inside-out
If I am lost
Will you wait by the phone
Wonder if I’ll call
Wallow in specious grievances
Worry sliding into irritation
Until the me-shaped emptiness
Thinks you’re well shot of me
If I am lost
Will you think it’s
someone else’s problem
We needn’t speculate
My once-was-forever
My here-not-here lover
I am lost
Will you find me?
