…naked and trembling before the machinery of other skeletons — Ginsberg

Distilled and collapsed
over the aching barrel
listen to the gratitude of spiders
opining on soapboxes now

Signalling for another
and another slice of awareness cake
the haze gets tight around you
boa of lightened conscience

All the colours
of your background
have blended into browns
with the odd dropping of yellow globes

Like a Carravagio
some figure must be draped over
in agony in conference
with a new roadside pebble

Entering arguments for the comments
that leave you at the table
statuesque but bleeding
and your pen already crushed

Anyway
you’ve gone too far, my friend
You’ve gone too far
