Innocent Again

Everything’s overwhelming
I get trapped inside
Little boxes in my mind
The walls are made of air
But hold me tight
I tried too hard
To figure out this life
And laid out many snares
Of ‘should’ and ‘what’s right’
And ‘don’t go’ and ‘don’t dare’
Oh to be innocent again
Like little children
With no fear of the mystery
That terrifies me
Live spontaneous and free
From delusions of past repeating
Or something happening
That isn’t here.
