Taken from Cea+, original by Frida Kahlo

To remember her skin —
is to feel the fleeting of our last hug, is to verify
my heart will continue to bloom
even if our parallel souls
will never touch, is to show my teeth
and grin, for a love that is interminable.

This poem is the 6th stanza of Imagine from the Sestina Synthetica project on Chalkboard.

Special thanks to my Sestina master Michael Stalcup! And, shout out to Tamyka Bell for this project!
