“Jade?” “Alexander?”

You told me you know what “Home” feels like
I see sleepy kisses in the young sunlight
A bed unmade. Our bodies a braid,
I read pages in your eyes- sweet nothings conveyed.

I could stare for days.

Blue and bright and so light
You smile summer skies over candlelight.

And the warmth stays.
After the candle is put out and the sun has set
(after you have gone to bed)
I still bask in your glow. You may not know

The same way the sun paints with gold
All that your eyes touch in my home is so.
The same way that nights are changed by the day’s warmth
I rediscover my home as it’s newly adorned
With you.

I never thought my space incomplete
Before I realized what it’s like when you’re here with me.
