Knife Blade, Shoulder Blade

A Poem

Photo by Ranjith Alingal on Unsplash

Bodies held rigid
colloquial light shaking
the screams of the armrest
ignoring black on white
backgrounds
Sharpened fixtures upping
the bets
to stay just far enough away
to avoid inveterate surgery
Fingers the new knives
trying to cut through ink
in solid ephemeral form
a smoky liberalism
Bent and skewed
told into line into small
red dots
that say “stand here”
Stand fucking still
or move to die and kill…
