Monthly Wrap Up
Happy April readers and writers! I hope that your month is off to a great start, and Saturday’s pranks were not too harsh! I know I am looking forward to some of those Spring thunderstorms! We editors at Literally Literary have a few announcements! Huzzah!
Our writing theme for April is “Redemption” in all of its many interpretations and imagery! What do you think of when you hear the word redemption? What images, sensations, come to mind? We look forward to seeing what you write up! If you have questions about the submission process, please check our submissions page! Heath Houston, TeriJo, and I are here to help if you have any questions.
We would like to welcome our new co-editor TeriJo to our team! We are very excited, and grateful, to have her join us! TeriJo will allow us to keep up with submissions, and bring another point of view! Literally Literary will be publishing three days a week now!
Literally Literary has a new layout thanks to the hard work of Heath Houston! Painstakingly he rearranged all the content to flow much more fluidly than it had before, so feel free to check out all the new tabs and sections!
I know, I know, everyone has done the membership thing, even Medium! This is a matter near and dear to my heart, and I hope you take the chance to be part of a community that we would like to build, and not just another publication. Literally Literary’s goal with our membership is to bring our writers words to life through print! All proceeds go towards creating our very own print publication, and submissions taken right from our writers! While you may be thinking “Print is Dead”, I know it isn’t? My proof? Well, all my research for the past nine months to open a bookstore proved this. If you’re interested in these numbers, I would be happy to share.
Please consider our $1.00 a month membership! Its only $12.00 a year compared to the $120 Medium is asking for. Included is a Slack Channel where you can collaborate with the editors, other writers and readers, and cultivate our Literally Literary community! You also will get first dibs on our podcast! That is right, Heath Houston has convinced me it will be fun, entertaining, and slightly embarrassing (for me) to do a podcast! We will discuss writing, poetry, books, music, and have feature guests from Literally Literary writers, readers, and even across Medium! We hope you decide to join us on the next step of our journey, because we can’t take it without you!
As always, thank you for being part of Literally Literary!
