i want us to build a universe
of little broken particles
of furniture and glass
however polished
that you can't hurt yourself on
chairs and beds and windows
and shiny plates
all put on display
in the living room
and a perfect family of two
not three or four
because that's easy to
disguise
under the masks of better humans
than us

i want to build a little universe
of particles and things
and feelings present
living
breathing
i want to build a whole new world
where you don't cease
to live
after giving birth
where dreams are there
still
even if remote
they’ll happen
maybe in another
universe

i want to build a world
of us
between us
unbroken
unfixed
but intimate
serene
and real
i want to build a world
with you
