Our Dark Descent

In the deserts of the soul
We walk this dusty road
Called life on Earth, which
Takes us, at last, from head to heart

We are envoys of the gods
Who come here to partake of
This darkening descent
Slake a thirst before returning

After expression and experience
Home to another cosmic dance
Gaze, profoundly, into the light
That only ever resides inside

Without our being-ness, this sense
I Am, there never is a world
All lives simply an appearance, finally
We leave the stage, returning to the night
