Rain

The rushing roar
and the awesome hush
of drowned sound,
a seethe, the storm
swept from a sky
fast clearing of clouds.
Supple saplings
whistle, tall trees
stream in rippling delight
from a little ago;
dangling mangoes,
star-bright, twinkle
through the washing mist;
rapt earth, grass tuft
and yearning tarmac
open to vastnesses
and creatures curl
in feline, fetal comfort:
crystallizing creation,
a chrysalis —
It’s a beautiful world.
