Rue Powers wrapped the red hair around the knife and hid the knife under her pillow. Rue’s hair was short and black and curly; not red and long and straight.

Nick’s hair was blonde and wavy, the kind of hair women would kill for, but the hairs she found on Nick’s pillow were red and long and straight. The note she found in his shirt pocket last week said, “Call me. Tracy. 555–2823.”
