Runagate

To run away from you

And hide myself that’s all I want to do

To feel the freedom I’ve been longing for

To see the other side of the shore

It’s stifling living in a cage

The life in me it slowly fades

My lungs can no longer breathe

Under these thick and heavy sheets

I want to see the sun again

And feel the air on skin

To remind me that i’m still alive

Though living only to survive

Though I’m desperate and weak

The light in the dark I shall seek

And paint a picture perfect life

Where I can flourish and finally thrive.
