I hope that you are all doing well, and enjoyed a long weekend if you had that opportunity! It’s been awhile since I have reached out to all of you, but I promise I am still keeping up with all the awesome work you writers are doing here on LL.
We have added a new editor, TeriJo! Heath Houston and I are amazed, and I am really floored, by all the submissions, so TeriJo will be a wonderful addition to our team! We would like to thank her for her help and creative eye!
Literally Literary has reached 10,000 followers, and that is absolutely fantastic! Thank you for all you have done to make this publication what it is. We will slowly be working on our membership content, and curating that for you. If any writers are interested in being part of the locked content, please let us know!
It is crazy that February is almost at a close, and March is coming up fast. I feel that I should tell you all why I have been absent the last two months, and have relied so heavily on Heath Houston to take care of LL. He did so with flair, care, and love, and I am deeply indebted to him for the wonderful job he’s done. I am in the next stage of opening an independent bookstore, Rubber City Tales, here in Akron, Ohio, and it has been an all consuming, terrifying, yet beautiful project and job. I am happy to say that we are close to securing investments and funding, and *drumroll* a nonprofit mission that is near and dear to my heart will be run out of it. It will be named Literally Literary! This nonprofit will focus on increasing literacy in young children, and young adults, as well as helping our refugee and immigrant population learn English while becoming part of our diverse community here. Rubber City Tales and Literally Literary will soon have a physical home, and it is very exciting!
I want to thank every writer and reader for sticking with LL during my absence. Again, Heath Houston, you’re the creme dela creme! I hope you are all having a fantastic week!
