the dilemma

of our digital age

how to connect
with an online audience
how to sound a chord that echoes
with a faceless crowd

it feels like
trying to catch the
eyes of Sunday passers by
in the reflection of a car window
at an antique road show

or does it …
perhaps I just had
a pretty cover image in mind and crafted
my words around it

never mind
here I am giving poetry a go
rather than those lengthy essays that
so many of my dear readers don’t seem inclined or
willing to get through

can a blogger
get an Amen? or if not then
maybe a sweet little green heart — oh wait
it’s clapping hands now?
just as well
