A fable
Once there was a fish
that wished it would rain
but each day that passed without a drop
brought him deeper into the dark
until one day his light was gone
and his belly turned to the surface
where the ripples washed
his futile scales
until
scavangers
picked his flesh
bone
clean
he begged me not to tell his story
but i knew the word must be heard
dressed him in many disguises
and told his tale
again
and again
