A short poem about a guy suffering from severe social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and anger management issues. Being a recluse all his life, finding love touched his heart but his burden was always too heavy to share.

How ironic is the title in itself,
All it leaves you with, are memories,
And you can’t do anything but dwell on,
Whether or not, you chose
The right words

It takes you back,
To the days when the words,
Meant only what you intended,
And not have million interpretations,
To leave you wondering, if you said
The right words

Somehow, you don’t revisit,
The happy memories,
Or the moments when you laughed,
Laughed, till your stomach hurt,
But you only reminisce, if you uttered
The right words

You remember those haunting discussions,
Those intense heated arguments,
Those never ending fights,
You speculate if it’d have made much difference,
Instead of screaming, if only you’d spoken
The right words

You realize the hurt you caused,
All the love you lost,
You regret the words you had bellowed,
With each string of words an arrow piercing your heart,
While all along, all you had in your head, were
The Right Words
