The Threat of Thunder Rides on the Horizon
Poetry
The threat of thunder rides on the horizon
Thor’s hammer is hungry for an anvil
while the winds of Woden roll across these Kentucky hills
a dash of lightning and the smell of rain tie it all together
The old god thunders that hammer down
lighting sparks of fire come dancing from the kiss betwixt
thunder and lightning, anvil and hammer
and the storm rolls on like a good blues song finding its rhythm
Lightning sets the drowning sky on fire
like all those raindrops had been swapped out for kerosene
and thunder rolls like an electric guitar meeting long practiced fingers
the two worlds find their nexus in the dance of their paradox
Raindrops rolling with fire
while the winds of Woden roll across these Kentucky hills
old world of myth and lore breathed new life in a fresh spring storm
the hungry threat of thunder rides on the horizon
