the wild abandon

the wild abandon
leaves bruises
blue roses
smiles crack like vases
on the floor of youth
abundance for wasting

we can live
in this evanescent thing
forever

heart heaves its secrets
in pauses-between
liquid courage leaving lips

expel and inhale

and then
it all goes stale
without warning

the wild abandon leaves
unexpectedly, one morning.
