A Poem

Photo by Lukasz Szmigiel on Unsplash

lately it smells like it used to be
freedom and the wet leaves
attach themselves
to my expectant feet

Another year unearthed with this
spicy warm autumn
bliss

but this is how alone
comes back around

needed
feared
drowned
awakened
pushed aside
dreamed
remembered
welcomed
alive

home again, my dust
my piles of worry
sorted through
like closets

and inspiration
spirits
long forgotten
