A poem on feeling unworthy

I’m not broken enough,
I need crevices of pain,
Wounds, vulnerability,
Flint and fire,
Mystery.
You don’t deserve
my seat-belt-safe drabness.

I’m too broken,
A jigsaw of fragility,
All edge pieces,
Skittish, egotistical
Flaky and fanciful,
Overwrought.
You don’t deserve
my sybaritic hyperbole.

I’m too me,
Just too endlessly me,
Nothing new here,
Stale, empty,
Monotonous and mundane.
Let me spare you.
No one deserves it.
Not today.
