You Are My Desert Sand~
I would fight for your life
be you in love with me or not
that is humanity
But if you say you love me
I should never the need
to fight for your love
that would be inhumane
If you love me its freely given
nothing in return need be
on retain
Me accepting your love
becomes a trembling heart
in the palm of your hands
One look and we are taken
back to where it first began
with you walking across the
hottest of desert sand
Me never to be concerned
about the safety, the fragility
of our life’s plan
We’ve long crossed that desert,
many years spent in the wetlands
now feet firmly back on dry land
and the first thought of moving on
have this heart of mine squarely
back in the palm of your hands
I would fight for your life
be you in love with me or not
I would cross that desert sand
just to be with you for a night
I would stand against the
devil’s army
if for one minute in time I think
you would be with me
Slowly, oh so very slowly
I am going to defeat that devil’s
army, I am going to show you
there’s room in my heart for two
For now I know there is truly
nothing that I can do
except to let you know,
matters not if you are a desert away
a crossing of endless days
eventually from the night will’ll awake
once again to seeing things our way
