Just another cold day here in the city,
The streets are empty and dark.
The lights are dimly lit in every lane,
As you hear the sound of an overhead plane.

It is cold outside in the evening tonight,
The trees are illuminated in the pale moon light.
Write some poetry to keep you warm,
Read some poetry to keep you calm.

A warming up poem is filled with ideas,
Some clear and definite with some fears.
There are so many subjects to write about,
So many stories that need to come out.

A warming up poem is like a brainstorm session,
Gearing up for something much bigger in creation.
A simple process to develop into a larger structure,
One that will have a celebration of idea upon idea.
